The Department of Applied Human Sciences is seeking a nine-month, tenure-track eligible appointment as an Assistant Professor in The Hospitality Management & Dietetics program beginning fall 2020. The Department of Applied Human Sciences is housed within the College of Health and Human Services and offers undergraduate concentrations in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management; Nutrition and Dietetics; Food, Nutrition, and Wellness; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Child Studies; Family Studies; Interior Design; and Fashion Merchandising and an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. The Hospitality Management and Dietetics program also offers a 9-month Dietetics Internship as a graduate certificate. Twenty full-time faculty members serve approximately 600 undergraduate majors in the department. Please see the Department of Applied Human Sciences website for more information on our programs.
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all- inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs. The ideal candidate will be management-oriented and have the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the hospitality and lodging management curriculum. Additional duties include: development and delivery of web-based courses; curriculum development; work with student organizations and relevant industry groups; promotion of the program; student advisement; community service; research; and participation on departmental, college, and university committees.
Doctoral degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management or a related field.
