Menlo School is looking for responsible, dependable individuals to provide important support to our Middle School Science Teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
These are part-time roles that will require approximately 20-30 hours per week. Candidates who are comfortable with a flexible and potentially-shifting schedule will be best for these roles.
The Teaching Assistants will:
Assist with technology needs by supporting students at home with log-in and troubleshooting issues, and managing in-room microphones, desk cameras, and hardware.
Assist with Science Teachers with the preparation of lab materials for 75 students. This includes ordering, compiling, and distributing kits for students, tracking kits, and setting-up and breaking down in-class kits.
Assist with sanitation procedures.
Supervise at-home students while a Science Teacher is facilitating in-classroom, synchronous activities and labs.
Supervise at-home students with asynchronous activities while Science Teacher facilitates labs/activities that cannot be done at home.
Track student attendance, assignment submission, and digital discussion board responses.
Collaborate with Science Teacher on curriculum, as needed, but especially in terms of problem solving supplies and space requirements.

We strongly prefer candidates who have experience in the classroom or a non-traditional educational environment, summer camps, museum education, etc., with middle school-aged children
Background in science or education is a plus
