National Science Teaching Association located in Arlington, VA, seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant (AEOP). The AEOP Administrative Assistant will split their time between the Army Educational Outreach Programs administered by NSTA: eCYBERMISSION (eCM) including the Next Generation Science Teaching Project (NGSTP), Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) and Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science (GEMS). This position will support activities related to the day-to-day competition management and administration of eCYBERMISSION and JSHS including support at the national events for both programs. General responsibilities include maintaining and updating program databases, collecting program data from participants and updating records, updating the websites for both programs, providing customer service, prepare documentation for payments into the accounts payable platform. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce (or other CRM platform), and the ability to adapt and be able to handle confidential information with discretion, attention to detail, work independently but also in a collaborative environment, and must have good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks. Travel is required as part of the job approximately 3-5 trips per year (after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted), including onsite for the full duration of the national events for both eCM and JSHS (dependent on COVID). Understanding and ability to communicate with the U.S. Army sponsors, parents and students. AA or Bachelor’s Degree required; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Flexibility to work on 2 different programs, and excellent problem solving abilities. Knowledge of STEM and 6-12 STEM competitions.
