Job Description Summary: Join innovative faculty in the School of Education and Human Services at Oakland University. We invite applications for a PK-12 science teacher educator at the rank of assistant professor. We seek an individual with expertise in science education and teacher education. Candidates are expected to have: 1) an earned doctorate degree in teacher education or a related field, with scholarly expertise in science education; 2) recent successful teaching experience at the PK-12 level; and 3) a demonstrated record of potential for accomplishment in scholarship. Applicants who have engaged in and apply science teaching practices and have an interest in practice-based teacher preparation and school-university partnerships are particularly encouraged to apply. We value candidates who can work collaboratively across department and institutional boundaries and participate in sustained engagement with local PK-12 schools and organizations. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of work in and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in education. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate degree in teacher education or a related field. Applicants with ABD status will also be considered if they will complete degree requirements by August 15, 2021. Special Instructions to Applicants:: Appointment begins August 2021.
