The successful candidate will be a master educator who displays passion for teaching high school science including physics. and additional electives; other responsibilities and competencies include:
Teaching 5 sections of Physics (some combination of College Prep, Honors and AP Physics C) and other core science courses and/or elective offerings based on candidate interest/qualifications and department needs;
Coaching a sport is highly desirable;
Connecting with students, challenging them, and working with students with diverse backgrounds and perspectives;
Advising approximately 12 students and facilitating the integration of our “Lead from Here” curriculum;
Demonstrating effective technology skills, including the ability to use our learning management systems (Canvas and Veracross);
Serving on committees and/or leading an active student club;
Demonstrating a growth mindset and the ability to receive feedback, adapt to different learners’ needs, and become a valued colleague in a strong and cohesive Science department.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Science or Science Education; MA in Science or MEd in Science highly desirable; physics teaching experience preferred.
