Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks an experienced Middle School Science Teacher, beginning in September 2021.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline, science education, or related fields; an advanced degree in science or science education and at least 3 years of science teaching with the Middle School age group are preferred. The successful candidate would join another teacher responsible for teaching the seventh and eighth grades (with a curriculum focusing primarily on biology, ecology, and chemistry).  

The position will also include advising a group of 8-10 students, additional supervisory duties, and attending grade-level and faculty meetings. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional understanding of student learning needs, strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, a passion for middle school students,  a commitment to an equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences, an awareness of how race, gender, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the classroom, an ability to work cooperatively and generously with colleagues, a commitment to ongoing professional development, an eagerness to build community both within the school and with community partners, and a sense of humor.
