National Cathedral School seeks a full-time middle school science teacher to begin in August 2021. Qualified candidates will possess aptitude in the earth sciences or human biology and experience with designing and implementing a STEM curriculum for middle school students. Experience in curriculum development and assessment is required, as the department is engaged in curriculum review. Candidates should have experience with and a deep appreciation for middle school students. Master’s degree or higher preferred. NCS science teachers utilize a student-centered pedagogy and a laboratory-based science curriculum that makes extensive use of technology. Teachers are expected to be on campus from 7:45 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m. Responsibilities include teaching, serving as an academic advisor for a small group of students, attending regular department, division, and faculty meetings, supervising one or more study halls, and working closely and collaboratively with science department colleagues. Additional duties may be assigned. Salaries are competitive, based on experience and include a full benefits package including professional development.
