Equipment Maintenance and Materials Management Technician

Department MEDICAL & MOLECULAR GENETICS (IN-MMGE-IUINA) Job Summary The IUGTTL Equipment Maintenance and Materials Management Technician is charged with conducting cleaning activities of equipment within the IUGTTL. This position will also be charged with accepting deliveries, placing materials in quarantine, and facilitating release of materials by IUGTTL Quality Assurance Specialist. The technician must perform activities in accordance with US FDA Good Manufacturing Practices. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED and three years of laboratory experience; OR college level science education. Strong communication skills. Ability to handle highly confidential information. Ability to gain competency in current Good Manufacturing Practices as they relate to documentation and inventory recording. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Willingness to learn additional computer programs. Ability to interact with individuals and respond to their questions and needs, as necessary. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Biology/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology. Working Conditions / Demands Ability to lift 50 pounds at a time, lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds frequently. Ability to spend moderate periods of time standing to receive in and store supplies appropriately. Bending and reaching when performing cleaning of equipment. Degree of sight required to allow inspection of incoming supplies and associated documentation.
