Located on a beautiful 86-acre campus in Hamilton, Ontario, Redeemer operates under a charter from the Government of Ontario and is a member of Universities Canada (UC), the Council for Christian s and Universities (CCCU), and the Canadian Council of Christian Charities (CCCC). The Position: Redeemer is looking for a full-time Business Professor to join its faculty in the Department of Business, in the Social Sciences Division. Business is one of the largest academic programs at Redeemer and has been blessed with large incoming classes in recent years. Our graduates have the benefits of a liberal arts and sciences core, a broad foundation in business, and then specialize in Accounting, Marketing, Management, or Not-for-Profit Management. Our Co-op Program is accredited by both CPA Ontario and CEWIL Canada. Approximately half of the students in the Business Program elect to do two eight-month co-op terms. The successful applicant will share responsibility for maintaining the Business Program’s high academic and professional standards and ensuring that it keeps pace with a changing world. Responsibilities: This position carries a teaching load of 6 to 7 courses per year (65% of the position’s responsibilities), with a focus on Management, Human Resource Management, and Not-for-Profit Management. Other areas of expertise such as Operations Management, Data Analytics, and Information Systems are assets. In addition, 25% of the position is dedicated to academic research, professional writing (e.g., writing Ivey cases) and/or professional consulting; and 10% of time is devoted to service to the Business Program, University, and wider community. Due to two projected retirements within the department over the next five years, we are looking for someone with leadership qualities and administrative gifts who welcomes a challenge. Preferred Skill, Education and Experience: The preferred candidate would possess a Ph.D. or D.B.A. along with professional and teaching experience. Candidates with an M.B.A. plus significant industry experience, professional certifications, and teaching experience will also be considered.
