The ideal candidate for this position at TVT will have at least two years of experience teaching Math and a B.A./B.S. in a relevant field (Master’s Degree or Ph.D. preferred); however, we are also open to candidates from non-traditional backgrounds. A successful candidate for this position will love science, appreciate the art and craft of teaching, enjoy collaboration, embrace challenges, maintain a rich life outside of school, find deep satisfaction in working with middle and upper school students, possess the emotional acuity and personality to inspire and engage kids, and maintain an excellent sense of humor. Teaching can be difficult work, but it’s wildly fun and meaningful. This candidate will also wish to contribute to the larger life of TVT outside of the classroom (e.g., club sponsorship, coaching, leading trips, designing new programs, or interviewing applicants for admission, etc.). Additionally, this candidate should feel comfortable using technology to bolster learning experiences.
