Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY:� The Chemistry Department at Washington University in St. Louis administers Supplemental General Chemistry Program to support, mentor, and train students enrolled in our General Chemistry courses.� The Supplemental Program is an essential part of the General Chemistry curriculum, with more than 800 students enrolled and 80 – 100 peer mentors trained per semester.� The Program has three arms; (1) a Peer-Led Team-Learning (PLTL) program, (2) a Transition program, and (3) a Residential Peer Mentoring (RPM) program.� The aspects of the Supplemental Program are managed by different Directors, and we seek a Project Coordinator to work with our faculty and staff to ensure the three aspects are well-integrated, cohesive, and remain strongly interrelated to facilitate administration, enhance the training of the students and mentors, and provide a united message to involved undergraduate students. This program is set up by Cornerstone and overseen by Residential Life, but Chemistry trains, mentors, and oversees the ten Chemistry RPMs to ensure they work well with the General Chemistry course.� The program includes:
The General Chemistry Transition Program helps underprepared chemistry students transition to learning chemistry at a college level.� The program involves 75 – 80 General Chemistry students every year.� The Program Manager will help the Director develop and administer the program, including duties as:
During the summer months, the Project Coordinator may be involved with educational-development activities or education-research projects, collaboratively with members of the Chemistry faculty, the Teaching Center, or the Center for Integrative Research on Cognition, Learning, and Education (CIRCLE).

Job Type/Schedule: This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of Chemistry. This position is for the Danforth Campus. Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $48,087 - $62,517 annually. Applicant Special Instructions: The Project Coordinator will not have any direct exposure to chemicals, but will work in a Chemistry Department with active research and teaching laboratories nearby.
