The Episcopal Academy is looking for an experienced and passionate educator to join our Lower School as a Science Teacher. Our ideal candidate will be a student-centered teacher with experience working with students from PreK through 5th grade, an enthusiasm for science, and an ability to bring science to life in an accessible and inclusive manner.
Who You Are
Either a PreK-5 teacher with a passion for science or a science teacher well versed in elementary education, we are looking for a new colleague who:
Delivers excellent instruction and designs positive learning experiences during both the school day and through extracurricular programming after the school day.
Collaborates with PreK-5 teachers in all disciplines on ways to integrate science principles to strengthen learning and instruction across the school.
Collaborates with science teachers in the Middle and Upper school to ensure a well-sequenced program and foster cross-divisional learning experiences.
Creates a welcoming learning environment and bases teaching and learning on a foundation of inclusivity.
Makes pedagogical and curricular decisions based on a thoughtful understanding of best educational practices.
Ability to engage and manage students at young ages - early childhood (PK-3)
Has a Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
