Allen College and St. Luke’s College are seeking candidates for a part-time, 16-month position that is funded by the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund grant and will assume the role as soon as possible. This person will work remotely, and the position is a shared position between Allen College – UnityPoint Health and St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health. Allen College and St. Luke's College are specialized colleges, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, offering nationally accredited programs of study in nursing and health sciences education. Allen College has more than 600 students and St. Luke's College has nearly 300 students.  

The instructional course designer reports to the chief academic officer of the Colleges. This person will support faculty in the development of effective and efficient environments for online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses and the integration of technology into curricula; collaborate with faculty to ensure that courses meet approved outcomes and incorporate both established and emerging technologies effectively; provide training and support for faculty relative to methodologies associated with the application of various technologies to promote teaching and learning; serve as a leader in the consultation and production of courseware incorporating web-based interactions, and digitized audio and video where appropriate; monitor and research instructional design theories and technologies applicable to instruction; and support faculty, staff, and students on distance education training and support issues.
