Solebury School is seeking a qualified, full-time Math and Science teacher to teach a range of classes, including Physics, Chemistry and a variety of Math classes. This position will start on or around August 23, 2021.
Teach two sections of High School Science classes, including Chemistry and Physics (levels vary between Intro to AP) and two or three sections of High School Mathematics classes
Lead two trimesters of after-school activities
Be on duty several weekends overseeing boarding students
Contribute to the Solebury community outside of the classroom i.e. leading a club, attending events
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or Science-related field
Demonstrated experience teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics
A passion for working with students of all abilities
Ability to collaborate within and beyond the department
Innovative beyond the textbook
Communicate ideas and expectations clearly
Maintain close relationships with families
Committed to continuing professional development
A Master’s Degree in Math or Science-related field
Boarding and/or independent school experience
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Ability to exert physical effort in work, including stooping, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing of materials weighing up to 30 pounds
Valid driver’s license required
