The College of Arts + Sciences Walter Center for Career Achievement team is currently seeking undergraduate students to assist in career programming and coaching.
Coach undergraduate students on career preparation-related topics such as resume writing, cover letter writing, job search strategies and interviewing preparation.
Partner with fellow peer and professional career coaches to operate Career Studio for drop-in career coaching.
Review resumes and cover letters submitted online through Handshake and the center's website.
Conduct career-related presentations on a variety of topics to diverse groups of individuals and student organizations across campus.
Assist in outreach and planning specialized career programming for students.
Research and collaborate on projects for the Walter Center on a variety of topics, which may include: assessment phone calling, marketing, blog writing, data entry, employer relations, and alumni relations.
Note: This position begins during the Fall 2021 semester. We'd like students to be available beginning early August for paid training.
Certified major in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University.
Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable presenting to small groups and meeting individually with others. Interest and passion for helping others.
Freshman-Junior class standing.
Working Conditions / Demands
Standard office environment. Available to work a flexible work week.
$10.15 per hour.
Peer coaches are required to work 8-10 hours per week.
