For nearly 40 years, Redeemer University has stood out across Canada for its commitment to a Christian undergraduate liberal arts and sciences education that develops the whole person. Redeemer offers 39 majors and streams that lead to either a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Education degree. Redeemer currently serves nearly 900 students, with almost 100 faculty and growing. Faculty are engaged in teaching, service to the community, and research, some of which is supported in part by the Natural Sciences & Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), and other funding agencies and donors.

Located on a beautiful 86-acre campus in Hamilton, Ontario, Redeemer operates under a charter from the Government of Ontario and is a member of Universities Canada (UC), the Council for Christian s and Universities (CCCU), and the Canadian Council of Christian Charities (CCCC).
The Position:
The Associate Dean of Students (ADOS) assists with the management and development of Student Life programs and staff. The ADOS builds relationships with students, staff and faculty to encourage student’s academic, personal, and spiritual growth by facilitating co-curricular activities and assisting in the development of a safe, nurturing campus environment. The anticipated start date: July 1, 2021.
In order to discharge these responsibilities in accordance with the objects and purposes of Redeemer University, the ADOS must have a deep-seated personal faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, be thoroughly and thoughtfully committed to the Vision and Mission of Redeemer University and the attendant policies and documents.
Responsibilities:
The ADOS oversees the residence life program and staff. The ADOS ensures that the residence life program aligns with the mission and vision of Redeemer.
The ADOS provides leadership in addressing student conduct issues. The ADOS ensures that students and processes are honored and that issues are properly processed.
The ADOS provides direction and support to the development of programs, activities and events that encourage on-campus and commuter students to develop holistically.
The ADOS serves as a Student Life liaison for International students. The international student programming assists these students in transitioning to Redeemer and contributes to their success at Redeemer throughout their program of studies.
The ADOS provides leadership to the remote student co-curricular experience. Their leadership will contribute to the academic success and retention of remote students.
The ADOS coordinates the co-curricular transcript program. This program provides an accurate record of students involvement during their Redeemer experience.
The ADOS coordinates the programs and relationships involved in sexual violence and response.
The ADOS intentionally develops relationships with students for mentoring and Christian discipleship formation.
