St. Margaret’s is seeking a Computer Science teacher to begin in August 2021. We are seeking a teacher who can enthusiastically and adaptively contextualize computer science to solve real world problems through project-based learning, particularly robotics and design thinking.
Primary teaching responsibilities include:
•Develop and teach required and elective courses in the MS and US in a differentiated and student-centered classroom. •Promote STEAM programs as well as help students discover and develop interests in this rapidly evolving field. •Collaborate with colleagues to design engaging curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and real-world problem solving. •Prioritize recruiting and retaining students with diverse backgrounds who have previously been underrepresented in computer science.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field; teaching credential preferred • Prior instructional assistant or teaching experience, private or public school • Computer competency and ability to use Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications • Experience with LEGO robotics, Microbit, Hummingbird, 3D printing, and computer programming is desirable
