CCA seeks an inspiring science teacher who will develop students’ inquiring minds, provide hands-on science skills, and inspire students to ask questions and examine science. This individual should embrace working collaboratively and creatively with colleagues in shaping various curricular areas and divisions. Candidates should be passionate about teaching and science, enjoy working with elementary school-aged students, and have a desire to share and collaborate with colleagues across subject areas.
Utilize the natural world on Cape Cod and outdoor learning spaces at Cape Cod Academy.
Collaborate well with colleagues on pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment and instructional strategies and create integrated units of study with faculty members of other disciplines in an ongoing effort to deepen student learning and model real-world connections.
Lead several sections of Kindergarten-5th grade science.
Encourage collaborative teamwork in the classroom, teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning, and consider multiple perspectives when solving problems.
Participate in weekly department meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and all aspects of school life that support the student experience.
Demonstrated professional behavior, including flexibility, judgment, and integrity.
Bachelor's degree in science or science related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
