Workshop Middle School is an innovative middle school for curious and creative students in Brooklyn, New York. We have a late opening for an integrated 7th grade Math and Science teacher.
Workshop Middle School is the only middle school expressly designed for middle schoolers! This means that everything about our school matches the natural abilities, interests, and needs of early adolescence. Because middle school really matters. How we work through this time — the peaks and valleys of early adolescence — sets a template for how our children understand and engage the world.
Middle school can be amazing!
Our academic program is rooted in hands-on, project-based learning which helps students learn advanced academic skills through immersive, real-world projects. With support, the STEM instructor designs and develops five 6-week project-based learning units, including lesson planning and learning assessment. Examples of past projects include virtual reality models, skateboards and half-pipe skate ramps, and Tiny House design and construction.
Each STEM Instructor is responsible for supporting a positive educational atmosphere where students learn to develop their full potential for academic, social, and emotional growth. An integral part of our learning community is our commitment to the positive personal growth of every student. Ideal candidates help every student work through challenge with care, concern, and support.
