The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for several non-tenure earning part-time adjunct faculty positions in Science Education and Special Education for the Fall 2021 semester. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and are reviewed by the department chair as openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a per semester basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer.
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers on-campus and online degree programs (graduate and undergraduate) with certification in the following areas:
· Early childhood through Grade 6 education
· English as a Second Language (ESL) education
· Bilingual Education
· Special Education
· Literacy Studies
· Math/Science Education
· Social Studies Education
Essential duties and responsibility include teaching one to two courses per semester either online, face to face, or hybrid.
Required qualifications for appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor include an earned doctorate or master's degree in Education and a minimum of three years teaching experience in special education or science education; and strong oral and written communication skills.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in university teaching in traditional and online environments, an understanding of the structures of schools and systems, T-TESS training, and a commitment to developing collaborative relationships.
