Haddonfield Friends School is seeking a Middle School Science teacher to begin September 1, 2021. Responsibilities include teaching a middle school science curriculum and working collaboratively to prepare students for the annual Coriell Science Fair. The qualified teacher will have an understanding of and strong affinity for Quaker philosophy, and will work collaboratively with the Middle School team and colleagues across the grade levels.
Strong candidates will bring:
3-5 years teaching experience in the Middle School classroom
Genuine understanding of adolescent development and respectful behavior management
In-depth knowledge of science and math skills as taught at these grade levels
Rich repertoire of teaching strategies to address a variety of learning styles and needs
Strong technology skills and experience with technology integration in the classroom
Commitment to continuous professional learning, including understanding and application of current research
Strong organizational and planning skills for laboratory experimentation
Ability to meet varied demands with integrity, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and humor
Ability to “Teach to the Whole Child” including enthusiasm for project-based learning, field trip planning, service integration, and extra-curricular availability
